The Search
Ed Schmidt and Jonne Robinson

We received an email from someone in Germany who taught at Ifunda in Tanzania in the 1960s asking for information about David Slaney, a TEAer from 3B that we haven't found. But during the search for David, Richard Baines and Chris Tongue were located. Lee Smith was in contact with Clarence Hunter, but hadn't realized he was not in our directory. Clarence knew Yvonne Powell's married name and probable location, which made her easy to find. Cassandra Graham Hall signed on following the death of her father, Carl Graham, and Dennis Chanter found us when he googled TEA and found the website. The search goes on! And this from Jonne Robinson. I have had a nice conversation with Richard Shuter. He said the Crown Agents were responsible for recruiting British TEAers. That body is not defunct, but he said that on the principle that any government agency loses documents that are important, the records of TEA should be languishing in the offices of whatever bureaucracy took over from the Crown Agents. I'll have a nose around. Cheers, Jonne |
